Deep purple color; aromas of cocoa, vanilla, and cherry lead to a rich palate of almost sweet black fruit with hints of clove and raisin; finishes with soft tannins.

Spicy aromas of red licorice, cedar and spearmint. Cherry and plum flavors with near syrup-like texture. Lengthy, candied close.

This wine opens with brambly fruit aromas laced with cedar and spice; the flavor matches the nose with a rich texture and a nice finish.

What an easy drinking Zin, and it has real complexity, too. The flavors are rich, chocolaty cherry, raspberry and blackberry flavors, with Zinny spices, while firm tannins and good acidity provide a rich structural balance. This is a lip-smackingly good Zinfandel.

Sierra Foothills Zinfandel

2005

Dusty black cherry aromas with a whiff of resin. Viscous black cherry, licorice and clove flavors. This finish is loaded with easy-drinking fruit and would be a perfect match for a summer barbecue.

Nice, rugged mountain Zin, with the briary, brambly tannins and peppery taste of wild berries freshly picked off the vine. Alcohol adds heat and structure, and time in the barrel has softened the tannins.
