Leese - Fitch
2009 California Chardonnay
Notes
This Chardonnay is bursting with aromas of ripe Lychee nut, tropical melon, and crisp Anjou Pear. After the initial blast of fruit your senses with be bathed with aromas of roasted chestnut, vanilla caramel apple, and an ample dose of rich French Oak. The palate is full-bodied with a fresh entry, medium weight mid-palate, and a creamy, lingering finish that just won’t quit! This is a very versatile wine that has great balance of fruit notes with rich and memorable creaminess.
The Mendocino County AVA starts some 100 miles north of San Francisco. While largely unexplored by many wine lovers, Mendocino is an absolutely spectacular and highly diverse AVA region with the Pacific Ocean crashing against high bluffs in the west, redwood forests, vineyards adorning mountain ridges and fog shrouded valleys.
Pairings
This is a flexible wine that will pair well with a Caesar or Waldorf salad, fettuccini with clams, or if you’re just hanging around the house; drink it with fresh popped corn with a hint of White Truffle Oil.
