2007 California Chardonnay

Notes

A beautiful straw color gives way to a zesty nose of lemon, baked Red Delicious apples, and Tahitian vanilla. A vibrant and complex nose overall; this vintage has hints of clove and honeycomb wafting in the background. Full tropical fruit shows through on the palate: guava and breadfruit, with honey and crisp acidity. Light hints of toasted marshmallow and spice linger in the finish.

Pairings

The balance of this wine’s medium body with its lively acidity opens up a wide array of possible food pairings. It could pair equally well with a broiled lobster tail, or as an accompaniment to simple creamy risotto. But we think it immediately evokes a beach towel, a bucket of fresh oysters, and a sunny day.
