Pennywise
2009 Pinot Noir
Notes
Light brick red in color with hints of emerald, the 2009 Pinot Noir blend boasts aromas of cherries jubilee, root beer, rose petal, and cotton candy. In the mouth, flavors of delicate plum, freeze dried strawberry, watermelon rind, cream caramel, and vanilla bean. This blend finishes with delicate notes of fresh summer sweet strawberries that seem to linger endlessly.
The 2009 Pennywise Pinot Noir has a core of fruit from the Merwin Vineyard in Clarksburg, which brings great cherry cola/root beer nuances to the blend. River Junction and Monterey lots present fresh berry fruit with delicate earth and watermelon rind notes. The combination of the lots makes a crowd-pleasing wine with great fruit and allows this wine to be served at any occasion.
